TESCO/TRUCKSTOP 02 September 2008 A Tesco spokesman advised the Community Council that while discussions are still ongoing initial thinking is that the Truckstop ground will contain a store slightly smaller than the one at Lanark, concentrating on food with very limited non-food items and no café; a petrol station is also being considered. It is anticipated that the site will support around 200 full time and part time jobs. Timescale will very much depend on the planning process but normally this size of store could be up and running within twelve months of receiving planning approval. |
