Lesmahagow First Responders

Who Are Lesmahagow First Responders?

We are volunteers trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend emergency incidents involving adults with any medical collapse, breathing difficulties, cardiac arrest, seizures, strokes and heart attacks. We live in the community so can get to patients quickly and give them CPR and early Defibrillation, giving our community a much greater chance of survival.

We support the local community by providing them with a shorter response time from phoning  999 in an emergency to the arrival of help. Supplying a high standard of First Person on the Scene medical treatment while waiting an Ambulance. We also will be running free Heart Start classes for the community. Our group gives the community a greater chance of survival in an emergency.

We are currently seeking support in the RBS community force contest and need votes in order to potentially win the £6000 prize which we will use to purchase another kit bag and defibrillator for the group. Please vote for us here: http://communityforce.rbs.co.uk/project/909

We also are always looking for volunteers so please Contact us if you are interested in joining us.
