Allotment Land
I am enquring about who owns the spare land between Tesco and industrial units in Lesmahagow. The land has not been used for a number of years. This would be an ideal site to set up a number of allotments for the local area. If anyone knows who own the land I would be most grateful for the information. This would allow me to attempt to obtain the land for use within the community and set up a allotment association.

Thanks

Tom

Lesmahagow Doors Open
Many thanks to Lesmahagow Community Council for allowing Granny Jackson's to promote our Lesmahagow-based supplier of Scottish confectionery and global Mail Order Company.

The Open Doors Evening provided a terrific opportunity to let villagers know about the Company. I was surprised to see that not many people knew about us! But thanks to the evening, more villagers are now aware.

On the Evening, we launched our new jar range of high quality Scottish old fashioned sweets which we name "Lesmahagow Heroes". Each of the seven jars depicts a Lesmahagow Hero who has a connection with Lesmahagow.

Our initial stock sold out! However, orders are being taken in Abbeygreen, main street: At Stewart's Fruit & Flowers from Monday 10th December 2007 and at the Post Office from Tuesday 11th December 2007.

The Collection can be viewed on posters distributed in the main street or on the GrannyJacksons website.

To all the team on the LCC, thank you once again for a highly successful Lesmahagow Doors Open Evening.

Community council
I am new to Lesmahagow and I found attending the community council meeting highly informative and encouraging. The committee are very welcoming to the public and show a great commitment to resolving the issues the village is faced with. I would urge any villager new or old to take an active part in all the forthcoming initiatives.
